San Antonio Rising Star started this program because we wanted to give our youth a voice. We learned over the years that today’s kids feel that people in authority don’t listen to them. So, we decided to create a format that will allow our youth an opportunity to speak on issues and situations that are going on around them. We also help them come up with solutions to the problems that they may be facing. But it’s not about addressing bad situations; it’s about building a platform so we can talk about the good things that the kids are a part of, whether it’s sports, school, or something happening around them. This program will teach the kids how powerful their voices can be.
